The relaxed look at Camp La Jolla carried right over to the island. George is
asleep inside the middle tent.

George and I went for a
walk to stretch and to scout the breaks at the channel between the islands.
George is seen here in his usual mode - AHEAD.
I think
George was first in the water, and first everywhere we went. After a couple
of days I started calling him the "Greyhound"
|

I tricked George into slowing
down long enough so he could take this picture of me.

The break at
the south west corner of Norte was in the 2-to-5 foot range and fairly safe.
We were able to get some surfing on this the next day.

You can't tell from this
photo, that wave is 8+ feet. Maybe 10 feet. It took forever for that curl to
hit the bottom! Although the one you see has a deep water run
out, every few waves the break is toward the left into the rocks. I wasn't able
to figure out which would end up being which, so I never did try to surf them.

Sometimes the run out from the
break above looked like this.
There is a lot of pain and suffering to be had
in there!

What can I say, I hate it
when I have a camp with a view like this!
