Island Crossing - August 19, 2002

Throughout this trip, Margo and Vickie made it look easy. They seemed to be able to remind themselves that they were on vacation.

George found a really cool sea star on the way to Cabo Banda. Very unusual color. After biting off one of the legs (not) he put it back in the water.

George brought a whole chicken, already cooked. This shot was taken at our turn around point before we gave up on camping near Cabo Banda. Margo, Vickie, Mike and George are hovering around the chicken like lions on a fresh kill. Jonathan, the vegetarian, is well to the side far away from the carnage. Soon after this picture was taken I pushed Margo and Vickie aside (with a sharp bite for punctuation) and plundered the kill myself.

Jonathan caught this candid shot of Vickie and I during the crossing. At this point we are still fairly near Punta Banda, and are passing between some of the small islets off the point. The choppiness broke up the boredom of the crossing.

The crossing was very clear and very calm. Mike is setting a nice relaxing pace. Our (future) camp is on the right side of the island.
